Produced by Koastal Kings, "Guardian" is a militant and spiritually grounded roots reggae record deeply rooted in the principles and philosophy of Rastafari. Built on a foundation of strength, discipline, resilience, and purpose, the song presents Rastafari as both protector and warrior, symbols of consciousness, resistance, and positivity in a world increasingly challenged by social and spiritual conflict.

The record reinforces the enduring role of Rastafari as both a shield against negativity and a guiding force toward higher consciousness.

The collaboration itself represents a significant moment within reggae music. Imeru Tafari, I-Wayne, and Yohan Marley each bring their unique perspectives and voices to the track, creating a multi-generational conversation that bridges reggae's rich legacy with its future. United through message-driven songwriting and a commitment to authenticity, the trio delivers a song that is both timely and timeless.

"'Guardian' speaks to protection, spiritual awareness, and standing firm in who you are," says Imeru Tarfari. "The message is about remaining grounded in truth, embracing discipline, and understanding the strength that comes from positive consciousness."

Accompanying the release is a visually compelling music video that further amplifies the song's militant energy and spiritual themes. Rich in symbolism and striking performance imagery, the visual brings the song's message of protection, resistance, and empowerment to life while celebrating the enduring influence of Rastafari culture.

At a time when conscious music continues to resonate globally, "Guardian" arrives as a powerful reminder of reggae's ability to inspire, uplift, and challenge listeners through meaningful storytelling and unwavering cultural identity.

TARRUS RILEY SHARES FEEL-GOOD REGGAE LOVE ANTHEM “U+ME = GOOD LIFE” A Soulful Celebration of Love and Legacy

Reggae star Tarrus Riley is back with a soulful yet light-hearted new single, “You + Me = Good Life,” released, Friday, July 25. Produced by Kareem “Remus” Burrell for XTM.Nation, the track is a sweet reminder that the simple things—love, joy, good company—are what truly make life beautiful.

Built on a foundation of legacy, the song samples the classic 1994 hit “Good Life” by the late Cocoa Tea, originally produced by Philip “Fatis” Burrell, the legendary founder of Xterminator Productions and father to Remus. With both Fatis (who passed in 2011) and Cocoa Tea (who transitioned in March 2025) now gone, this single becomes more than just a love song—it’s a joyful celebration of reggae roots and the enduring impact of those who helped shape its sound.

While easy on the ears, the song’s message runs deeper. You + Me = Good Life” speaks to the power of togetherness and how we complement each other in relationships. It’s about that special bond that makes life richer and happier. Through empowering lyrics like “Miss Good Good your life stable, dem cyah ask wah you bring to the table, You are your own boss”, the song uplifts women and reinforces the idea that a loving, balanced relationship is one of the greatest gifts.

Still, at its heart, “You + Me = Good Life” keeps things full of good energy, you don’t want to be alone when you hear this song. Tarrus Riley’s vocals glide effortlessly over a warm, modern riddim crafted by Runkus, with Wade Johnson on keyboards and Lamont ‘Monty’ Savory on guitar. Vocoder adlibs add a soft, futuristic touch, while Veer Dhaniram’s mix keeps the groove clean, crisp, and ready for repeat play.

“This one is about love in its purest form,” says Riley. “It’s a happy song. You plus me—that’s the good life. The drum and bass make you want to just bubble with your special someone. And it’s also a little toast to the greats who came before us, Cocoa Tea and Fatis. Their music lives on through us.”

Tarrus recently gave fans a preview of the single during his performance at Reggae Sumfest in Montego Bay on Saturday, July 19, where he honored fallen legends with a heartfelt rendition of Cocoa Tea’s original “Good Life.” The moment was both nostalgic and uplifting—just like the new single itself.

“You + Me = Good Life” arrives as a bright summer anthem wrapped in heritage, love, and good vibes—proof that the legacy of Xterminator continues to shine with every new generation.

The single is available now on all major streaming platforms .
