Samory I returns with new single and video for "Kingston Heat"

Samory I’s STRENGTH album, released late in 2023, has been one of the most celebrated reggae albums of the year and arguably, the decade. The record was #42 on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of the Year (the only reggae release picked); voted as the best album of the year by fans in Germany’s RIDDIM magazine (along with producer of the year for Winta James for this album); and garnered playlisting everywhere from Bob Marley Tuff Gong Radio to Radio Nova (France), and song of the day features on KEXP and Ebro Darden’s Apple Music show. Now the album is being released in a deluxe digital version, which features three brand new songs along with three dub versions of those songs, mixed by Tippy I Grade of Zion I Kings (who recently produced Protoje’s IN SEARCH OF ZION).

“Kingston Heat” is the first taste of these bonus cuts, a song about which Samory I says “Work and time spent can be an issue when it comes to love and relationships, especially if one wants time and attention. ‘Kingston Heat’ speaks about the struggles of an ambitious person when they are in love.”
