[Kingston, Jamaica - August 3, 2024] Jamaican producer, Andre Villa, from Onscope Records is based in the US but has maintained his roots by working with some of the biggest names in dancehall. One such artist is Tatik with his latest track titled “8 Figures”. It’s the first single from Villa’s upcoming Emotions Riddim compilation, a project called “Jamaica Meets Afrobeat”, released midnight on Friday, August 2nd.
“The smooth delivery of ‘8 Figures’ is beyond words,” said Villa.
“Tatik is a great artist and very versatile, working with him on previous songs gave me so much insight of how much more he has in store,” Villa continues.
The upcoming producer strongly believes that it is imperative that as a newcomer in this business, one must enter the music industry and put your best foot forward. In other words: “Come with your A game!” It is a very competitive industry that requires individuality that will make you standout from the rest.
“Diversity is what I am here to showcase. That is why I chose to do this project,” Villa noted.
“I'm here to create longevity music and I know “Jamaica Meets Afrobeat” will be a part of the Greatest 100 Albums of all times of this new era!” Villa exclaimed.
Tatik’s “8 Figures” was a collaborative effort, produced by not only Andre Villa for his Onscope Records label, but also College Boiz Production, SkyViews Entertainment and Prolific Entertainment. It was mixed and mastered by Kavin "Simpac" Henry.
“Jamaica Meets Afrobeat” will also feature songs by Erup, Mr Easy and a few upcoming artists, including 2 female singers. The 8-track compilation album encompasses a uniquely outstanding dancehall beat perfectly infused with an afrobeat sound, making “Jamaica Meets Afrobeat” the perfect title of this project. The Emotions Riddim has songs about a variety of topics ranging from lifestyle, like “8 Figures”, to Erup singing a love song.
