Orville Moodie, more popularly known as Buzzweh, was born on August 20, 1983 at the Victoria Jubilee Hospital in Kingston, Jamaica but grew up in the parish of Saint Mary where he attended the Annotto Bay All-Age School. At age 12, like most children at the time, Buzzweh became a fan of the late great King of Pop Micheal Jackson and would always make songs from his hits. His uncle was a huge influence in his life growing up, as well as an elderly lady in his community by the name of Mother Bennett, who inspired him musically. At 14 years old Buzzweh had an accident while playing with a stick where he fell on it, damaging his right eye. He can be seen mostly in sunglasses, even at night, to cover it so that it doesn’t frighten anyone who is unaware of his condition.
Buzzweh is a Dancehall recording artiste who did his first recording in Portland in the year of 1998. Officially, his first release was a single called “Booked Fi Di Flight” which was released on June 23, 2016 from the Booked EP while using the moniker ‘Buss Weh’. Since then, Buzzweh has gone on to work with Supahype from 007 Mobile Sound and studio at the time (currently with Diamond League Sound and Suncity 104.9FM), and is now working with Lady Donna from Osujah Records and Troy from Troylandon Music, both of which are using an engineer called ’NJ’ who makes his beats. Buzzweh states that though he’s not officially signed to anyone yet, he really likes working with NJ and is loving how his team is shaping up. He will be teaming up with Stretch Boss Music as well on various projects in collaboration with Troylandon Music. With PR services from Lesley Hayles, Buzzweh is going forward with his career straight to the top.
“Cook A Pot” on the Osujah Records label has been a successful release since April 12, 2023. It has been creating a huge buzz for the creative artiste, putting him in the public’s eye due to his catchy lyrics and energetic flow along with a music video that is racking up views on YouTube. The follow-up single, titled “Motivation” by Troylandon Music, is set to be released on June 24. A music video was also done for “Motivation” in various locations in Kingston on May 20. Buzzweh is currently working on an EP for Osujah Records, which would consist of 3 songs, to be released before 2023 ends.
With
the music he is putting out, Buzzweh would love to accomplish a positive
change from the negative mindset of all people in the world. The message he
intends to spread to his fans is “hold the faith, and move mountains.”
The reception from his supporters and fans have compared Buzzweh to a
stepping razor and encourage him to keep moving straight ahead. The work he’s
been doing and the personnel he’s associated with have been a bright light in
his career, he says, and in keeping his eyes closed to negativity Buzzweh
will always stay on the positive side of things.
