Yaksta's latest single ‘Numb’ is an emotional tribute for Yaksta’s friend who died suddenly and before reaching his full life’s potential. Yaksta cries out in the chorus, ‘My head is numb’, as he is overcome with a rush of emotions at his late friend’s funeral service. He asks whether there is room in heaven for more, what it is like there, if his friend misses him too and if he can call him from Heaven. This song by Yaksta is a great, urban-life masterpiece that softly caresses the deep realities of premature loss of life and the lingering community numbness endured as a result.
Yaksta is a reggae and dancehall singer and producer from Jamaica. Taking musical influences from the likes of Bob Marley and Taurus Riley, as well as Chronixx, Protoje, Buju Blanton, Damian Marley, Koffee, Busy Signal, Jo Mersa Marley, Skip Marley, Capleton, and Jessie Royal. Yaksta intertwines reggae, dancehall and hip hop beats with emotive lyrics that touch on social and political issues. Having amassed over 20 million views on YouTube, Yaksta keeps proving that he is relevant and one to be taken seriously as a reggae/dancehall artist.
'Numb' is available to stream on all platforms NOW!
