Snatcha Lion presses forward in pursuit of reaching accolades of his older brothers Richie Spice, Spanner Banner & Pliers. The cultural singer has stepped it up a notch in 2021 with numerous recordings for notable producers.
Glenroy Bonner aka Snatcha Lion, was born in Rock Hall St. Andrew. He is a chip off the musical Bonner Brothers’ musical block which includes ‘Richie Spice’, ‘Spanner Banner’ and Pliers of the legendary musical duo, Chaka Demus and Pliers, all stalwarts in the Jamaican Reggae Music industry.
Snatcha began to showcase his musical talent at an early age as he competed and was placed on top in a host of local talent competitions. These early successes inspired him to enter the Jamaican Tastee Talent Contest, synonymous with showcasing a number of Jamaica’s musical talents. His performance at Tastee’s landed him a contract to perform on seven shows across the island with Desnoes and Geddes.
Snatcha’s first single titled ‘African Woman’ was released in 1997 received favorable airplay on many local radio stations including ‘Irie FM’. Later that year he did a combination with his older brother Richie Spice titled ‘Livin ain’t Easy’ which secured the number one spot on the RJR Reggae charts for an impressive two weeks. This gave him the rise to perform extensively locally with ‘Richie Spice.
Snatcha promises to deliver brilliant thought provoking music to reggae music fans globally and remain as timeless as his inspiration and mentor ‘Bob Marley’. He also aims to educate the people of Jamaica with his endearing lyrics and perform ‘Jah’s Righteous Works’ to the fullest as the sky is the limit.
