Jahvillani, Mr. Vegas and Cutty Ranks are a few of the top international dancehall entertainers who have added their voice to a brand new project from hit producers Terror Family Production, Donstew Production and Wai Fuzion Records. They collaborated to create the long-awaited ‘Hot Tea Riddim’.
Hot Tea Riddim showcases other dancehall acts including Frassman Brilliant, Beenie Gunter, Cova Grung, Kemist, Purpl-S, and Zinthos. The producers have enlisted top tier artistes from every generation in dancehall to participate. “The
atmosphere of this project highlights the culture of dancehall from
what it was to now. That was the main objective of this project” said Donstew.
The project which will be distributed by 21st Hapilos, is set for release on Friday, September 24, 2021 and will premiere in North America, the Caribbean and Europe.
“This project has been a long-anticipated project. Each artist is
very enthusiastic about how their song will perform. For Terror Family,
this project is not just another juggling, but also a project we hope to
share some highlight on Jamaica’s most talented but sometimes
underrated artists.” said Mark Lawrence of Terror Family Production.
Over the last few months four singles have been released from the
project - Mr. Vegas - Weh Bruk Ago, Beenie Gunter - Trust Mi,
Cutty Ranks - Get the Picture, and Frassman Brilliant - Fly Pass Dem. “I
like how each artiste approached the riddim. We didn’t have to tell
them how to go about it. It is an authentic dancehall riddim. You get a
raw feel of dancehall from each of the artistes” lamented
Billboard-charting producer Wai Fuzion.
The compilation of songs began at the
onset of the pandemic in March 2020 and wrapped recently with the
addition of the track from Zinthos.
